Milen Bozhkov

In der Saison 2022/23 debutiert Milen Bozhkov als OTELLO an der Seite von Krassimira Stoyanova beim Sommerfestival Varna sowie als RADAMES in Aida an der Nationaloper Warschau. Seinen ersten CANIO in I Pagliacci singt er in Ulm. Als PINKERTON in Madama Butterfly und PRINZ in Rusalka ist er am Theater Krefeld/Mönchengladbach zu erleben.
Zu seinen meistgesungenen Rollen zählt der sympathische Tenor den DON JOSÉ , den er in der Saison 2021/22 an der Staatsoper Nürnberg und der Nationaloper Tirana, sowie in der Saison 20/21 in einer Neuproduktion Carmen am Staatstheater Kassel verkörperte. Im Sommer 2022 kann man ihn in dieser Rolle in einem Open-Air-Konzert der Philharmonie Hagen erleben.
Weitere Engagements brachten ihn zuletzt auch als GUSTAVO in Un ballo in maschera an die Nationaloper Tirana, als DON JOSÉ an das Theater Coburg, als PRINZ in Rusalka an die Oper Halle und als als OFFIZIER in Cardillac an das Theater Hagen.
Milen Bozhkov absolvierte seine Gesangsausbildung an der Musikakademie in Sofia und vervollständigte seine Studien an der Universität für Musik in Graz bei KS Prof. Joanna Borowska. Milen Bozhkov vervollkommnete seine Ausbildung bei KS Krassimira Stoyanova, von der er auch heute regelmäßig unterrichtet wird.
Seine ersten Engagements brachten ihn direkt an die Nationaloper nach Sofia und an das Grazer Opernhaus; ab 2007 war er fest an der Oper Maribor engagiert.
Von 2011 bis 13 war er am Landestheater Coburg fest engagiert. Hier sang er ein breites Repertoire mit Rollen wie dem NADIR ( „Les Pecheurs de perles“), ALFREDO („La Traviata“) TEBALDO („ I Capuleti e i Montecchi“), PINKERTON („Madama Butterfly“) , LENSKI („Eugen Onegin“), RICCARDO („ Un Ballo in Maschera“), RODOLFO („La Boheme“), POLLIONE („ Norma“) , SÄNGER ( „Der Rosenkavalier“), und den GERALD ( „Lakmè“ ), HERZOG VON MANTUA („Rigoletto“).
Als Gast kehrte der bulgarische Tenor an das Landestheater Coburg danach als CAVARADOSSI („Tosca“), PRINZ SOU CHONG („Das Land des Lächelns“) und PRINZ („Rusalka“) zurück.
Darüber hinaus war er zu zahlreichen Gastspielen eingeladen, darunter als PINKERTON an das Staatstheater Darmstadt und die Nationaloper Sofia, als RODOLFO an das Staatstheater Nürnberg und das Landestheater Detmold, den DUCA DI MANTOVA sang er beim Festival Schenkenberg, und am Aalto Theater Essen , DON JOSÉ beim Festival Schenkenberg und an der Staatsoper Stara Zagora.
Weitere Konzerttätigkeiten führten ihn nach Japan, Österreich, Deutschland, Slowenien, Kroatien, Lettland und Bulgarien. Im Sommer 2022 sang er Gounods CÄCILIENMESSE im Konzerthaus Luzern.

In the season 2022/23 Milen Bozhkov makes his debut as OTELLO next to Krassimira Stoyanova at the Varna Summer Festival and as RADAMES in “Aida” at the Warsaw National Opera. He also sings his first CANIO in Ulm. At the Theatre Krefeld/Mönchengladbach he is PINKERTON in “Madama Butterfly” and the PRINCE in “Rusalka”.
The congenial tenor most-sung roles include DON JOSE, which he sang in the season 2021/22 at the Nuremberg State Opera and the Tirana National Opera and in the season 2020/21 in a new production of “Carmen” at the Kassel State Theatre. In summer 2022 he can be seen in this very role in an open-air concert with the Hagen Philharmonic Orchestra.

Further engagements brought him recently as GUSTAVO in “Un ballo in maschera” to the Tirana National Opera, as DON JOSE to the Coburg Theatre, as the PRINCE in “Rusalka” to the Opera House Halle and as OFFICER in “Cardillac” to the Hagen Theatre.

Milen Bozhkov studied singing at the Sofia Music Academy and completed his studies at the University of Musik in Graz with KS Prof. Joanna Borowska. Milen Bozhkov perfected his musical education with KS Krassimira Stoyanova, who still regularly teaches him.
His first engagements immediately brought him to the Sofia National Opera and to the Opera House Graz. From 2007, he was a permanent member of the ensemble of the Maribor Opera House.

From 2011 until 2013 he was engaged at the Coburg Theatre. Here, he sang a broad repertoire with such roles as NADIR ( „Les Pêcheurs de perles“), ALFREDO („La Traviata“) TEBALDO („ I Capuleti e i Montecchi“), PINKERTON („Madama Butterfly“) , LENSKI („Eugen Onegin“), RICCARDO („ Un Ballo in Maschera“), RODOLFO („La Boheme“), POLLIONE („ Norma“) , SINGER ( „Der Rosenkavalier“), GERALD ( „Lakmè“ ) and the DUKE OF MANTOVA („Rigoletto“).

Afterwards, the Bulgarian tenor returned as guest to the Coburg Theatre in roles such as CAVARADOSSI („Tosca“), PRINCE SOU CHONG („Das Land des Lächelns“) and the PRINCE („Rusalka“).
Besides he was invited to sing numerous guest performances including PINKERTON at the Darmstadt State Theatre, and the Sofia National Opera, RODOLFO at the Nüremberg State Theatre and the Detmold Theatre, the DUCA DI MANTOVA at the Schenkenberg Festival and the Aalto Theatre Essen , DON JOSÉ at the Schenkenberg Festival and at the Stara Zagora State Opera.
Other Concert performances brought him to Japan, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Latvia and Bulgaria. In summer 2022 he sang Gounod’s CECILIA MASS at the Lucerne Concert House.
